New Video Tutorials

Back in our May newsletter, we announced our new User Guide, a fully-printable FileCenter manual in PDF format. While the electronic Help system in FileCenter gives great contextual help, we felt our loyal users needed more comprehensive guidance to take their understanding of FileCenter from the simplest features all the way through to some of the most advanced techniques.

If you haven't discovered the guide yet, you'll find it right at your fingertips. Just click the User Guide button in FileCenter ... assuming you use FileCenter 8. (You have upgraded to the latest, haven't you? If you're behind the curve, check out the Holiday Special above.)

Knowledge for the Time-Challenged

As soon as we finished the User Guide, we knew our next step: a series of video tutorials. Some users learn better seeing than reading. Others just don't have the time to sit down and digest a manual.

The video tutorials, while not as comprehensive as the User Guide, will give anyone a solid foundation in the principle features of FileCenter. And most run just ten minutes or shorter.

So give us a weekend and let us guide you through the features you always wanted to learn but didn't have the time to explore. For example, have the Naming and Templates buttons on the main toolbar been piquing your interest? Have you been meaning to tackle the Search feature? Do you need to share a cabinet on the network but don't know how to go about it? Do you want to take a leap forward and use FileCenter on the Cloud?

Wait no longer. Give us a few lunch breaks, and we'll revolutionize the way you use FileCenter. Just go to our home page and click the Videos link at the top. Or follow this link:

Customer Spotlights

About 15 years ago, I bought my first scanner. It came with bunch of software, most of it useless, except for PaperPort 6. PaperPort was easy to understand, easy to configure and very easy to use. I've been a loyal PaperPort fan ever since.

This year I decided to upgrade my 5-year old PCs. The upgrades included a switch from 32-bit Windows XP Pro to 64-bit Windows 7 Pro. And for the first time PaperPort let me down. Despite multiple assurances from Nuance tech support staff that PaperPort 14 is fully compatible with Windows 7 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions), I could not get it to work. I tried Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit. I tried 4 different scanners by 4 different manufacturers. Every time, same thing happened - after first scan, PaperPort crashed every time.

In my long search for reasonably priced well designed scanning solution for small office I came onto Lucion FileCenter 7. I downloaded trial version, played with it for 2 days and purchased 2 licenses on a third day of tests.

FileCenter is the only software of all I tried, that is straight forward enough that one can start using it immediately. The File Cabinet analogy is excellent, making interface easy to understand. Of more than 20 packages I tested so far, this is the only one I found to be comparable to PaperPort in ease of use, while being richer in features and offering more additional options.

All in all, FileCenter is a very fine product, which works and works as advertised. Better yet, it's very well supported - I received prompt comprehensive answers to all my questions.

Thank you for excellent product.
